Activist Training Camp, led by Medea Benjamin @ Wash U
In celebration of International Women’s Day, forums and workshops will be held in the St Louis area between Wednesday, March 5th and Friday, March 7th to discuss the contribution of women to the global peace and justice movement. These events will feature nationally known activists and speaker Medea Benjamin.

On a bitter cold Tuesday evening here in St. Louis, 150-200 people marched and rallied outside a speaking engagement for former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. The event was funded by Washington University (specifically the College Republicans, part of the school's tuition-financed Student Union), which paid Gonzales $30,000 for the occasion. This payment came amidst protest from both students and law school faculty.

Exhibit explores influence of war and disaster @ Kemper Art Museum
Beginning Feb. 8, the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum will present "On the Margins," an exhibition exploring the impact of war and disaster through the work of a diverse range of contemporary artists. Curated by Carmon Colangelo, dean of the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts and the E. Desmond Lee Professor for Collaboration in the Arts as well as a nationally known printmaker, the exhibition will showcase more than a dozen works, ranging from prints and photographs to video and large-scale installations, by 10 artists from around the world.
